Giggling Penguins From Indonesia
The sparkling laughter of three young Indonesian friends is still ringing in my ears.
Lisa, Ardian and Danang work for Nestle Indonesia and have come on official duty to the Nestle India factory at Samalkha, Haryana. Incidentally I happened to be there for conducting laughter yoga sessions for the staff of Nestle. In the evening, we travelled together to Nirula’s Hotel in Panipat where we were staying.
On the way, we talked about Laughter Yoga. They were curious and found the concept interesting. I invited them to my room later in the evening for a brief tryst with laughter yoga.
We had one of the most enjoyable laughter sessions in the hotel room that evening. They were rolling in their chairs!
They were fascinated by milk shake laughter, sumo wrestler laughter and forgiveness laughter. But they loved penguin laughter the most. For some time giggling penguins were moving all over the room. It was sheer joy!
It is said that the more the merrier. But sometimes less is more. We went on to discuss the physiological and psychological benefits of laughter and also the inner spirit of laughter.
We then enjoyed our dinner together.
I am going to cherish those lovely moments for a long time.
