(Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi—an ex Naval Officer, possesses a multifaceted personality. He served as Senior Advisor in prestigious Supercomputer organisation C-DAC, Pune. An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad was involved in various Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing projects of national and international repute. He has got a long experience in the field of ‘Natural Language Processing’, especially, in the domain of Machine Translation. He has taken the mantle of translating the timeless beauties of Indian literature upon himself so that it reaches across the globe. He has also undertaken translation work for Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, which was highly appreciated by him. He is also a member of ‘Bombay Film Writer Association’.)

☆ Endured Anguish… ?☆

Smelted constantly

in the blazing inferno,

Amalgamated ceaselessly

in the virulent acid…

 

Endured anguish of

the gory bloodbath,

Ever inflicting carnage

mutilated sensibilities…

 

Shell-shocked are they

on my enduring silence

instead of expected

hysterical cachinnations…

 

How ruefully oblivious

are they of the onerously

ever-painstaking process

of making the pure gold…!

पर  रब  रहता  है…

Knoweth  not  at  what

height the Lord resides..!

कहने को तो मौत यूँही
इतनी बदनाम है, साहब
कुछ जिंदा लोग भी जिंदगी

उम्र ने एक दिन तलाशी ली…

तो  जेब से कुछ लम्हे बरामद हुए

कुछ गम के थे

कुछ नम से थे

और कुछ टूटे-फूटे…

बस कुछ ही सलामत मिले

जो बचपन के थे..!

One day, the age

searched my life

Found some moments,

recovered from the pocket

Some were sad

Some were bad

And some, broken…

Only a few were intact

Those were of

the childhood..!

ना ही गुजरे लम्हों का था ख्याल,

ना आने वाले वक्त का कोई इल्म,

नादानियों में जो यूँही गुज़र गया,

क्या वक्त  वो कमाल का था…!

Neither was any thought of the time bygone

Nor any premonition of the coming moments…

The time just passed away in doing spirited follies,

What an amazing time of the life, it used to be…!

? पर्यावरण दिवस विशेष – गिलहरी ??

गिलहरी,

फल को कुतर-कुतर,

मुँह में दबाती है बीज

फलदार वृक्ष का,

ताकती है चहुँ ओर

टुकर-टुकर..,

लम्बी दौड़ लगाती है,

पोली धरती तलाशती है,

माटी की कोख में

बीज धर आती है,

विज्ञान कहता है-

अपने असहाय भविष्य के लिए

इकट्ठा करती है बीज,

मंदबुद्धि जानवर है,

भूल जाती है..,

आदमी के हाथ,

पेड़ का धड़

सिर से अलग करने के

विशाल यंत्र लिए

आगे बढ़ते हैं,

नन्हीं गिलहरी

सामने अड़ जाती है…,

मैं जानता हूँ

असहाय भविष्य की

निर्वसन धरती

वह देख पाती है, फलतः

बार-बार बीज जुटाती है,

बार-बार दौड़ लगाती है,

बार-बार गर्भाधान कर आती है….

धरती की आँख में

उभरता है चित्र-

बौने आदमी और

आदमकद गिलहरी का..!

Nibbles at fruit incessantly…

clasps the seed in her mouth…

looks around,

runs round-and-round,

far and wide tirelessly…

looks for soft land,

finds one…digs and digs…

and…impregnates it with the seed…

Sayeth the world –

so doeth she to save her

from vagaries of times,

from the harsh winters;

we think fudgmentally…

being halfwit, she forgets the seed

when devilish man proceeds

with evil intentions

to chop the trees with monstrous machinery…

Then, little squirrel confronts

with all her might steely resolve…

But, in vain…But, I know,

How she envisions the future of mankind,

–of helplessness…

–of barrenness of land, unable to bear fruits…

Spelling doom, resulting in the…

Annihilation of human race…

She has already sensed it;

Eventually decides, to save the world…

fetches more and more seeds,

does more and more impregnations of the earth…

emerges the picture in the eyes of mother earth

of the… “Dwarf mankind”; and,

the “Man-size Squirrel”!

Your refusal or acceptance…!

Millions of star clusters

remain scattered,

on a dark night canvas;

But never can

they illumine the

ever-sombre world…

It’s only when the effulgent

silvery moon appears

in the realm of sky,

with its splendorous moonlight

the dusky ambiance does

get brightened up gleefully!

He keeps participating in various language & literature fests, symposiums and workshops etc. Recently, he played an active role in the ‘International Hindi Conference’ at New Delhi.  He presided over the “Session Focused on Language and Translation” and also presented a research paper.  The conference was organized by Delhi University in collaboration with New York University and Columbia University.

(Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi—an ex Naval Officer, possesses a multifaceted personality. Presently, he is serving as Senior Advisor in prestigious Supercomputer organisation C-DAC, Pune. An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad is involved in various Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing projects of national and international repute. He has got a long experience in the field of ‘Natural Language Processing’, especially, in the domain of Machine Translation. He has taken the mantle of translating the timeless beauties of Indian literature upon himself so that it reaches across the globe. He has also undertaken translation work for Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, which was highly appreciated by him. He is also a member of ‘Bombay Film Writer Association’.)

We present an English Version of Shri Sanjay Bhardwaj’s Hindi poem  “विचारणीय”.  We extend our heartiest thanks to the learned author  Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi Ji (who is very well conversant with Hindi, Sanskrit,  English and Urdu languages) for this beautiful translation and his artwork.)

मैं हूँ

मेरा चित्र है;

थोड़ी प्रशंसाएँ हैं

परोक्ष, प्रत्यक्ष

भरपूर आलोचनाएँ हैं,

 

मैं नहीं हूँ

मेरा चित्र है;

सीमित आशंकाएँ

समुचित संभावनाएँ हैं,

 

मन के भावों में

अंतर कौन पैदा करता है-

मनुष्य का होना या

मनुष्य का चित्र हो जाना…?

 

प्रश्न विचारणीय

तो है मित्रो!

I am there

My picture is there;

A few compliments are there

Direct, indirect

Outright, implicit

many criticisms are also there…

 

I’m not there

But my picture is there;

circumscribed conjectures,

fearful surmise;

but reasonable possibilities do exist…

 

Who creates this discrimination in the human minds

between a man, and

his being a picture..?

It sure is a ponderable inquisition..!!

“परिवर्तन के लिए तू जो भी करना चाहता है, वो कर…,

वियोग अवश्य ही मिलाता है
