☆ ~ ‘Shadows of Yesterday…’ ~? ☆ Dr. Anshu Sharma ☆

(The 2nd Prize winning entry in the Literary Warriors Group Contest. The subject of the contest was “परछाइयां” /Shadows”.)

The shadows stretch from days gone by,

Whispers of echoes, a hollow sigh.

They creep along the silent walls,

A past that haunts, a voice that calls.

*

They walk ahead, I follow behind,

A silent echo, a shape undefined.

Born from light, yet draped in the night,

A fleeting form, never truly mine.

*

They tell of scars, of battles lost,

Of bridges burned, of heavy cost.

They weigh like stones upon my chest,

A sleepless mind, a soul distressed.

*

Yet shadows form, where light still glows,

Beyond the dark, the sunrise grows.

The past may call, but it won’t define,

A fleeting ghost, no longer mine.

*

I rise again, though burdened still,

With a weary heart but an iron will.

For every shadow cast in time,

Proves there’s a light my soul will shine.

*

I will not bow, I will not break.

The dawn is mine, my path to make.

For even when the night is long,

I walk with hope, I sing my song.

☆ ~ ‘The Shadow’s Dirge…’ ~? ☆ Mr. Shivanand Pandey ☆

(The First Prize winning entry in the Literary Warriors Group Contest. The subject of the contest was “परछाइयां” /Shadows”.)

I walk where golden beams allow,

A slave to light, yet never seen,

No voice to break, no solemn vow,

No kingdom lost, no realm to glean.

*

I spill in length when evenings wane,

I crouch and fade ‘neath noon’s command,

Yet though I follow, mute, in vain,

He never seeks to understand.

*

I twist on walls like whispered sin,

Or pool beneath his weary tread,

No breath to lose, no bones within,

Yet tethered still, though long since dead.

*

I mock his gait in silent jest,

A mimic bound yet never whole,

His closest kin, his voiceless guest,

No weight to bear, no wandering soul.

*

At dawn I rise, by dusk I drown,

By starlit hush, I cease to be,

Yet when the night unchains the town,

Then he is lost—and I am free.

*

For in the dark, where none remain,

Where light has bled and time runs thin,

The world is mine to roam again,

And he, not I, is locked within.

? ~ Sparrow ??

Upon my house’s parapet,

a sparrow made her nest

Each morning, she’d converse

with me in her sweetest best

“Chee-chee,” “choo-choo,”

she’d chirp with glee

Grains to sustain her young,

a mother’s love to see

 *

Her visits stirred memories of

childhood’s joy and delight

As she’d descend with her flock,

in blue sky’s wondrous sight

 *

With patio hops and yard skips,

she’d flit and flutter by

Bringing divine bliss to my heart,

a sense of wonder why

 *

With beak so fine, she’d pick

and choose the finest grain

To feed her chicks, to  soothe

their hunger’s pangs and pains

 *

 Their joyful chirps, a symphony

of cosmic love and delight

As they awaited their mother’s return,

shining with love’s pure light

The sparrow’s selfless love,

a divine lesson to my soul

A reflection of my mother’s love,

making my heart whole

 *

Tears of nostalgia spouted,

as nostalgia of childhood’s past

Resurfaced with the sparrow’s love,

Fond memories, never to  last

 *

Says the adage, “Love is priceless,”

a precious treasure to hold

A gain that’s greater than all wealth,

a blessing that never grows old

 *

For in the end, we leave behind

all earthly possessions dear

But love remains, a lasting

legacy that casts out every fear

 *

So let us live in love, die in love,

and fade in love’s pure light

For the sparrow’s lesson taught me,

love is life’s greatest delight

 *

A selfless love that asks for nothing,

yet gives with every breath

A love that’s priceless, pure, and true,

a love that’s worth our every death..!

unwittingly, they forged

? ~ Petrichor ??

In the grandest of “Perfumers Global Exhibition”,

A world of fragrances, a sensory exploration

Thousands of stalls, spread across miles wide,

Each one showcasing perfumes, with utmost pride

*

Every bottle gleamed, with its own unique flair,

Fragrances wafted, dispelling all dissonant air

The crowd swooned, in awe of perfumed delight,

Overwhelmed by choices, their senses took flight

*

Just then, dark clouds gathered, in the sky above,

Clouds rumbled, as raindrops began to pour in love

The earthy scent, of petrichor filled the entire place,

As heaven and earth merged, in a fragrant embrace

*

Perfumes, that once dazzled, now faded from sight,

As the earthy scent, took the center stage in delight

Petrichor, -the aroma of the soil, rose high and free,

A fragrance, surpassing, all perfumes, for all to see

? ~ ♥ Echoes of Love…  ??

Whenever I depart, don’t let grief to remain,

Tears may fall, but the sorrow must abstain

Memories will last, like a beacon in the night

Guiding you forward, with brightest of light

*

I may be gone, but my soul shall stay near,

In your every step, and every breath & tear

Live, my love, live! Don’t waste a single day,

Anchored in sorrow, while the life slips away

*

With every dawn, find a new hope each day,

In every night, my memory will find its way

Seize every moment, cherishing each breath,

Banish every fear, and let love be your depth

*

Keep moving forward, don’t ever look back,

In your heart, my love shall forever track

Through every storm, through every plight

Our love will shine, and be the guiding light

Here’s an entreaty of the heart, post Angioplasty with few stents as guest…an earnest appeal:

– Pravin Raghuvanshi

? ~ Echoes of Mortality ??

As long the flesh and blood endure

A solitary monologue ensues,

a silent echo screams inconsably

On the canvas of imagination

emerges a mystic dialogue,

Unfolding a conversation in the

realm of cognitive intelligence…

Each breath, -a fleeting whisper,

Scribbling life’s transient theme,

Mortality’s indelible dark design

Perishing this mortal frame…

Listen to me, hear my plea:

“Release the shackles of vindictiveness,

rage, frustration, malice and grudge,

While mortal breaths remain alive,

Share a moment, converse happily

Enjoy each other’s convivial company!”

Braveheart Capt. Pravin Raghuvanshi ji’s message to all after coming out of ICU—

Just came out of ICU…after an Angiography followed by Angioplasty… with plenty of blockages cleared off and stents put… People are surprised including me… With daily 8-10 Km walk, exercises, Yoga and Pranayam, nobody expects this to happen, that too, non-smoker/drinker with a regimented lifestyle…

My point is that if it can happen to me despite such lifestyle and fitness regimes… then it can happen to anyone…and we mustn’t ignore our health…

Please do get checkups done regularly… What’s even more surprising that it was never detected despite regular ECG, 2D, TMT, Holter Monitor Test… It’s only when Super Specialist Doctors in the prestigious Army Institute of Cardio Thoracic Sciences (CTC) decided to do the Angiography which led to detection of heavy blockages.

Please make sure that your diet is absolutely balanced with no stress in life.

I was lucky with the divine intervention… God has been very kind.

May God bless us all…!

– Pravin Raghuvanshi

? ~ O’ Dear Heart… ??

When life’s twists leave you frail and worn,

O’ dear heart, -the lovely one, don’t feel torn

Time’s tape can’t rewind, and calm the fear

but to heal you, dear friends are always near

Cheer up, dear soul, and don’t ever lose sight,

God’s greatness shines, like a resplendent light

He weaves the life’s tapestry with intricate care

And wants you to write, more poetry to share

So let the words flow out like a healing stream,

And find a cosmic solace in poems’ gentle beam

May your heart heal, and your spirit take flight,

In the lustre of poetry, shining ever so bright..!
