Ms. Sulakshana Misra

☆ Poetry – My war for peace ☆

I am at war

With my own thoughts.

I have, goals to achieve

And feats to accomplish.

If ever, I am to achieve

My ultimate inner peace.

I have to prove my mettle

Before I go to final sleep.

The mental agony is

Too much to handle.

My thoughts are

Always at battle.

My limits are pushed

And new avenues are created.

My thirst for glory

Is too hard to quench.

I must win my war

To get my inner peace

Or else, for my life

Just sit idle and repent.

☆ Bundle of feelings…

 Sometimes the bundle of

feelings, bursts open with

an outpour of emotions,

like an incessant fall

of dried leaves,

whose life cycle is

just about to end…!

Can the dried leaves

ever be green again?

Can  their  life  be

beautiful  ever again?

As they realise their beauty

in  the  dying  moments

sans anxiety, delightfully

to be part of a sprightly

hued journey,

Ever grateful for the heavenly

fortune they chanced upon…!

Making the world colourful

till their last moments,

As they kept spreading

the happiness smilingly,

with myriad hues of autumn,

without uttering a word,

Forgiving them all,

who gave them pain,

As they merged merrily

in the soil below…!

Keep groping your

Bundle of feelings, too;

And, you too, keep dropping

leaves, one by one, slowly

Coz, when all the leaves

fall together,

The tree itself writhes in

agony, excruciatingly…!

पर उसके मन में कुछ और था;

☆ Enchanting Moon…

Spirited moonlight,

in the lap of sky

Kept swaying galore!

Amazingly rollicking gait,

Even the swinging

movement of steps

Would make the wind blow like tinkling of sprightly anklets…

On her smile

were hundreds of

smitten people floored

and willing to die for…

Of which, one was,

the careless sea,

an ardent lover!

The sea told her,

I’m in love with you

and can’t live without you!”

And, the moonlight

flauntingly merged

into the hug of the sea…

Innocent moonlight,

Could not even understand

That her form has changed

And, she has been imprisoned

In the precincts of the sea…

Considering it

as her sweet home

She would remain happy!

But soon, she learnt

after a few days

That, apparently,

quiet looking sea

was something

else in reality;

She was petrified

To see the fury of

storms in his mind,

And, the conceited

artificiality of appearance,

She began to crave

for her freedom!

Today, I saw her again

late at night on the

day of Karva Chauth*

She had reached back

up in the sky

glowing with her

ever enchanting smile!

English Literature – Poetry ☆ Her sole universe ☆ Ms. Sulakshana Misra

Ms. Sulakshana Misra

☆ Poetry – Her sole universe ☆

As she stood alone

In the lonely world of her own

She looked up at the sky

There was a sparkling twinkle in her eyes.

She wanted to reach out to the moon

She wanted to grow up too soon.

She was told that her mother was a star

Sparkling up in heaven’s altar.

She felt a strong connection

To the stars, moon, and heaven.

She carried an abyss of emotions

Her thoughts were hard to fathom.

She was as tiny as a particle

Lost in the vastness of the universe.

Since the loss of her mother

She forgot to dance and giggle.

Now the only thing that could

Make her chuckle

Was an old pic of her mother

To her, that was her sole universe.

☆ Memories…☆

Along the river

On the shore

That dry tree,

with few leaves,

Kept waiting

With the stony eyes…

Entire life

got swept away

in the deluge…

Scarred domes,

Crumbling branches…

Nevertheless,

This strong tree of

expectations is

still intact …

The courtyard of memories,

with the passage of time,

kept gathering the

dust  of age-storm…

Your everlasting presence

As a ceaseless shadow

Kept scratching

the wounds!

Hopelessly withered flower, too

Blooms, even in autumn,

Whenever you

You come as spring

In the lonely memories…!

English Literature ☆ Weekly Column – Abhivyakti # 26 ☆ Barricades ….. ☆ Hemant Bawankar

Hemant Bawankar

(All of the literature written by me was for self satisfaction. Today, I present my contemporary poem ‘Barricades …..’. .))

☆ Weekly Column – Abhivyakti # 26

☆  Barricades ….. ☆

Barricades are erected on the road of life.

Experienced senior guards are vigilant

to regulate the speed of life

Sometimes some vehicles break

barricades and signals.

Sometimes someone bounces

stones of insensitivity

to spoil the non-violent atmosphere.

Then – power and forces are applied;

the lawmaker is bigger than persuader.

Why did you erect

so many barricades of

caste, religion, and sect.

Some barricades were erected

in our mind by us.

Some barricades were erected

by benefactors and you.

Often, we become puppets.

Then challans of negativity

are kept cut lifelong.

Hopefully!

You can remove barricades to see across

A positive life

A new dawn

A new sunrise.

English Literature – Poetry ☆ Life is a journey ☆ Ms. Sulakshana Misra

Ms. Sulakshana Misra

☆ Poetry – Life is a journey ☆

Life is a journey that begins with a cry

And ends with the final goodbye.

As I grew up in life

Did I think, why not give, smile a try?

Since then, I moved ahead in life

I celebrated every moment in my life.

In the journey of my life

I had my ups and downs.

When I was up and on cloud nine

I thanked Almighty and smiled.

When I felt low and let down

I bowed to God but never frowned.

I ensured to leave pleasant memories

For people around,

Before I bid my final good-bye.

Because sooner or later,

The final destination is sure to come.

But before that,

I had open arms for everyone

As a sign of hearty welcome.

I made friends, I lost friends

Life showed me alarming trends.

I am adamant about celebrating the journey,

Before it finally ends.
