☆ Kindness ☆

Kindness is an art

You were born with,

It was tattooed all over

On your nascent body;

After all, you were a child of grief!

There was so much

Heartlessness around,

That you kept rinsing

Your body with cheesy dips

Of kindness!

You will die

On the pyre of kindness,

Life has after all

Treated you with so much of callousness

That it needs to be balanced!

☆ Let’s light a lamp… ☆

Let’s light a lamp

at the door,

that is guarded by

the superstition…!

Let’s light a lamp

in front of the street

where hunger came

and stayed on…!

Let’s light a lamp

on the platform

where resides

the Indianness…!

Let’s light one lamp

at the rampart

where flutters the

tricolor of mine…!

Let’s light a lamp to

mitigate the disaster,

And one, at the tempest

of transformation…!

Let’s light a lamp at the

grave of  martyrs, and

reverberate the world

with deafening salutations…!

☆ Weekly column  Poetic World of Ms. Neelam Saxena Chandra # 31

☆ Helplessness ☆

There are those edgy instants

When you become a heated oven

And tiny grains of excruciating anger puff up,

They hit the grey steel walls

Of the ventricles of your heart

With high velocity,

Making you lose your steadiness.

Before those tender grains

Flare up like pale yellow popcorns,

It’s better to freeze them

In the refrigerator of time.

After some point,

When you take out those icy grains,

You expect them to cool your being…

Unfortunately,

They blue-pencil the white ribs

Surrounding the heart

With a razor like sharpness!

English Literature ☆ Weekly Column – Abhivyakti # 12 ☆ The Market of Life! ☆ Hemant Bawankar

Hemant Bawankar

(All of the literature written by me was for self satisfaction. Now I started sharing them with you all. Every person has two characters. One is visible and another is invisible. This poem shows us mirror.  Today, I present my poem ‘The Market of Life! ’. This poem has been cited from my book “The Variegated Life of Emotional Hearts”.))

My introduction is available on following links.

☆ Weekly Column – Abhivyakti # 12

☆ The Market of Life! ☆

The world

is a market of life!

New lives

born to sell.

Old lives

destroyed and thrown

away

from the throne.

None knows

the mentality of ones.

Some say

old is gold

some say

new to sold.

Requirement of new

was too much

so they purchased me

fully

when I was new.

Now,

I am feeling

I have nothing of mine.

Body and soul;

thoughts and mind;

pulse and heart;

each and everything

is of customer

My Master!

My Lord!

My God!

and… his highness!

I’m sold

thus

I’m soldier

… of LIFE!

English Literature – Poetry ☆ Anonymous litterateur of Social Media#1 ☆

 ☆ Anonymous litterateur of social media /

☆  Keep staying in your house… by Captain Pravin  Raghuwanshi

There’re stormy conditions

Don’t set sail for any voyage

   Pleading with the avian-world

To keep nestled in their trees

Even in once in blue moon,

Don’t step out, be with family

   It’s a blissful fortune only

    That you’re before their eyes

Agreed, like gypsies you’ve

  Been wandering endlessly

It’s the need of hour that

You stay in your own town…

Much did you wander around

  Every nook and every corner,

It’s a matter of few days only

    Keep staying in your house…

Smelted constantly

I extend my heartiest thanks to the learned author  Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi J for this beautiful translation.   Captain Pravin Raghuwanshi ji is very well conversant with Hindi, Sanskrit, English and Urdu languages.)

☆  English Version  of  Poem of  Hemant Bawankar ☆

☆ Epidemic or Pandemic – by Captain Pravin  Raghuwanshi ☆

You can call me by any name

Epidemic or pandemic

Natural disaster or man-made conspiracy

But in the end, you will

only lose…

Agreed that

I’m a natural disaster,

You saw my cool-and-calm composure

And sometimes,

the catastrophic ones too,

However much I tried

to scare you

Through,

Cyclones

Earthquakes and landslides;

From the

Ozone hole to

Global warming

From the

Climate change

To countless other

representational signs…

But,

You did not mend your ways,

Let’s agree now that

It’s a man made conspiracy…

You are the one

solely responsible for catastrophe

You messed up

Not only with me

But,

With the entire humanity…

I gave you

The whole mortal world,

the entire universe

And, above all

Rare human birth…

Beautiful natural locales,

Winter, Spring, Autumn, Summer and Monsoon seasons;

Lush green forests filled with

Flora fauna and myriad reptiles

Blissful enchanting waterfalls

Golden sandy beaches

And plentiful natural bounties

and many more priceless gifts…

Whom you could have enjoyed blissfully…

But, Alas!

Again, you didn’t agree

Instead of the serene picturesque nature

You chose the ‘Global village’

But, forgot the principle of

‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ –the world is one family concept…

Based on apartheid, religion and racism,

You fractured the humanity

into several pieces…

You preferred

battles, wars and World-Wars…

You played politics of becoming superpower

Messed up with the environment

Made the reptiles and animals your diet,

Created destructive biological weapons,

Replaced peace with violence

Spread hatred instead of love

You prioritized the power-politics of:

Domination and demolition

Gas chambers and concentration camps

Hiroshima-Nagasaki and Bhopal Gas Tragedy,

Which bear  silent testimony

of your atrocities

You forgot

How many foeticide did you commit

How many innocent children and humans

were subjected to

starvation, epidemics, diseases

and victims of hate violence…

every second, poignantly…

Hope good sense prevails now, and

You stop the evil chase

of power supremacy

And, dedicate your life for the

upliftment of humanity

Provide two square meals

to the deprived ones,

Make hospitals to extend love and care

to the sick and geriatrics…

You can call me by any name

Epidemic or pandemic

Natural disaster or man-made conspiracy

But the loser in the end,

will be you and only you…

Today when I’m showing you the mirror

You’re mortally scared

Hiding in your homes

Get up, awaken now

Fight me bravely, Take me head on

For, it’s question of survival of your own species

To whom you are solely responsible

You still have a chance

Follow the laws of nature

Save the environment

Rise above apartheid,

religion and casteism

Love the humanity and

brotherhood of man…

If not for yourself

Then, at least,

for your generations,

of which you are

representative like me…

And, critically for

your future generations

Which is your responsibility…

This beautiful loving

nature is a gift

To you

To your future generations

To the humanity per se,

But mind you,

Time is running out…
