(यह कविता समर्पित है तीन वर्षीय सीरियन बालक ‘आयलान’ को जो उन समस्त बच्चों का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है जो विश्व में युद्ध की विभीषिका में इस संसार को छोड़ कर चले गए। आज ही के दिन 2सितंबर 2015 की एक सुबह आयलान का मृत शरीर तुर्की के समुद्र तट पर लावारिस हालात में मिला। उसे भले ही विश्व भूल गया हो किन्तु वह जो प्रश्न अपने पीछे छोड़ गया हैं, उन्हें कोई भी संवेदनशील व्यक्ति नहीं भूल सकता। इस कविता का अंग्रेजी अनुवाद भी इस कविता के अंत में प्रस्तुत है। इस कविता का जर्मन अनुवाद भी उपलब्ध है । )

The dead body of ‘Aylan’ was found unattended on the beach of Turkey on 2nd September 2015. The world will forget him one day, but, one cannot forget the questions that he left behind him.
