❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃

Agreed I’m your riddle only…

But I’m your solution too…

Though I am  bit crazy

But a large-hearted one!

❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃

What will you do now

By coming close to me…

You’ve lost me for good

By trying again and again

❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃

At all times in environment

You  will  always  feel  me

I’m fragrance of friendship

That will last the whole life

❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃

That’s  why  my  love

 just remained incomplete,

I kept caring about her

and she about the world..!

 ☆ I’m Like A Little Sparrow Myself… ☆

The age-old, long forgotten

relations of my village,

whom I’d buried myself

with the dust of neglect

I desperately search for

them in this big city,

with a lost identity…

In the mercury light,

with its insensitive limits

I keep seeking the

sheets of moonlight

of my rustic village…

In this town’s

blown-out bonfire

I do keep seeking

hot embers…

In the crowded

surge of humanity

I keep seeing only

the unfamiliar faces…

Among the stylish

gammers of this city

I keep searching for

my adorable

mother’s wrinkled face…

In midst of ever ceaseless,

fast-paced life of the city

I keep longing for the cool

shadow of my neem tree…

In this city, replete with

overflowing knowledge,

I do recognize the

unschooled characters

of my village

strewn across all-over…

In the bunch of damsels,

jiving rhythmically

at the glitzy floor

of swimming pools,

I envision the ducks

of rustic ponds…

Clutched in the

golden eagle’s talons

I see myself as a

hapless little sparrow…

But then,

when did sky ever

give shelter to the birds…

At this terminal stage of life

It’s the time for me to

nostalgically embrace

my own land…!

Tongue-tied

Wrinkled-faced parents

Kept listening to

☆ Chakravyuh☆

Life long,

Had the Chakravyuh

–the trap of improbity

around me,

With the sword of truth and guts

I kept chopping it off,

Knoweth not,

How many have I severed

How many more remaining

Who knows

Will I win or

lay the life

But this much is for sure

Till I am breathing,

the Abhimanyu

Will continue to dwell inside me!

We present an English Version of Shri Sanjay Bhardwaj’s Hindi Poetry  “चातक ” published previously as ☆ संजय दृष्टि  – चातक ☆.  We extend our heartiest thanks to the learned author  Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi Ji (who is very well conversant with Hindi, Sanskrit,  English and Urdu languages) for this beautiful translation.)

Original article  –

☆ Chatak ☆

… agreed that you write well but also try to understand the world some time.  Learn worldliness.  One cannot always drink nectar alone.  Write something peppery-spicy.  Get into the river, stream, puddle, pond, and quench your thirst.  How long can you live with dry throat?

… I’m of Chaatak family.  If I drink, I drink water of Swati Nakshatra only, else, my thirst craving will remain my destiny…

☆ Weekly column  Poetic World of Ms. Neelam Saxena Chandra # 50

☆ Pandu’s sons ☆

Cursed by Rishi Kindima

Into the realms of forest Pandu retired

The news of pregnant Gandhari

In him, the desire to have a son fired.

Seeing him desolate and murky

His dutiful wife, Kunti consoled

“For his wife to bear another man’s child,”

She said, “The law of Dharma allowed”.

“Let me call a Rishi,” said Pandu

“Let us call a Deva,” Kunti stated

Blessed by Rishi Durvasa, she had a boon;

The knowledge made Pandu elated.

Pleased by Kunti’s solution

First to be invoked was Lord Yama

She gave birth to Yudhishtra

Who would be the upholder of Dharma

Next to be summoned was the God of wind

Of all Gods, most powerful and mightiest

And thus was born courageous Bhima

Who, one day, would be the strongest

And then, blessings were sought

From Indra, King of all Devas, who ruled the sky

Arjuna, the valiant archer was born

He became Kunti’s favourite by and by

And then, Kunti could invoke no more

Four were the maximum allowed

Pandu thought for a few days and then

For Madri, his second wife, implored

The Ashwini twins were invoked for Madri

The Lord of morning and evening stars

Nakula, the handsomest man was born

Along with his twin, with knowledge of near and far

Pandu, thus had five sons

Together, they came to be as Pandavas known

Had wisdom of ‘King perfect’ collectively

Honesty, strength, skill, beauty and wisdom they honed

Kunti’s Longing For Bheema ☆

“Where art thou, my dear child Bheema?

My brow stressful, heart sobs and weeps!

Have come back all my sons and nephews

Says Duryodhana, that he last saw you asleep….”

“Where art thou, my dear child Bheema?

My eldest Yudhishthira, so naive and innocent

Believes everyone to be as honest as he is

Did not, while returning, note that you are absent”

“Where art thou, my dear child Bheema?

Duryodhana, detests you and is spiteful too

Worry and anxiety make me a wreck

Has greed for the throne led him to kill you?”

“Where art thou, my dear child Bheema?

Says Vidura the wise, you have a life long

His reassurance, hardly of any help

Thoughts of anguish, my heart throng.”

“Where art thou, my dear child Bheema?

Pray, come and embrace me in your arms

I can’t even openly name the persons wrong

Hey Bheema! Entice me with your charms!”
