देख दुनिया की बेरूखी

न पूछ ये नाचीज़ कैसा है

हम बारूद पे बैठें हैं

और हर शख्स माचिस जैसा है

Seeing the rudeness of the world

Ask me not how worthless me is coping

I’m sitting on pile of explosives

And every person is like a fuse…

शहरों का यूँ वीरान होना

कुछ यूँ ग़ज़ब कर गया…

घरों को आबाद कर गया…

Desolation of the cities

Did something amazing…

Repopulated the houses

Lying deserted for years…

Every country greatly boasted of

Being a nuclear super power…

Entire universe was rendered

Grossly helpless by a tiny virus…!

कितनी आसान थी ज़िन्दगी तेरी राहें

मुशकिले हम खुद ही खरीदते है

और कुछ मिल जाये तो अच्छा होता

बहुत पा लेने पे भी यही सोचते है…

O life! How simple were your ways…

We only bought slew of difficulties on our own

Kept craving continuously, even after acquiring a lot,

How nice it would be if only I could get something more

☆ – “Colosseum” – ☆ Shri Ashish Mulay

like a beautiful flower

falling of a branch

landed on the clay

they call worlds play

for them you are spectator

and for you they are

here comes the nervousness

they call consciousness

and in this brief moment

ride rattling stories

under their hooves

they chain your glories

but you will have to play

play with the chains

and embrace this clay

to embrace the way

all they want is spectacle

so be your own spectator

dead walls need a sparkle

be the player extraordinaire

set your priority not others

but your own chains

brilliant a game when you

are free and them in chains

and even if you die then

it won’t go in vein

walks out a free man

not sent or carried from

play here in this colosseum

find strength in your cheer

of this really yours arena

be your own Gladiator…

☆ – “Race” – ☆ Shri Ashish Mulay

It makes me laugh

when I hear someone

saying ‘Life is a Race’

for in a race only one is ‘The Ace’

doesn’t it mean all others

the second, the third

are losers not worth a word

weird is the word for the herd

for me the life is a multi-front war

that is fought in a fashion

fashion called a ‘Blitzkrieg’

doesn’t work there the rig

neither all fronts are won

nor all are lost

what ultimately matters

is nothing but the cost

neither there are winners

nor are there losers

with thousand wounds

there are just survivors

be the best of what

you were given

if at all there is a run

it is just from your own

☆ – “Her Power” – ☆ Shri Ashish Mulay

What have you seen of hers

a flesh, a mind or hairs

If that’s all you have seen

then you have not seen

to see her truly

is to see her power

and her power is truly seen

when she is not seen

powerful force she is

than the gravity itself

for gravity pulls all the matter

but she, all the spirit

gravity starts pulling

when it is present

but her power acts

when she is absent ….

let her go, let her go her way

and you will see her beauty

for even from a distance

her light will motivate you

Like the MOON……

☆ – “Game” – ☆ Shri Ashish Mulay

I have learnt to remain calm

but I am not silent

I have learnt to not talk

but I am making statement

with the experience comes the pain

but when goes the pain, wisdom is a gain

time has taught me

how the love fails

but moment has shown me

how the love gains

 *

despite the odds and injustice and battles

I have learnt to keep the heart alive

for life is a sea of uncertainty

where your ship gives a try

one beautiful evening

my ship will sink

and my heart will cease

but till then it shall beat

 *

that’s what being human is

to give always a try

Winning and loosing become illusions

as the game goes by

and what remains real

is the heart that gives a try…

☆ – “Choice & Chance” – ☆ Shri Ashish Mulay

In meadow of thorns lies a flower

only friend of him is a rain shower

in his struggle of surviving

he dreams of thriving

But comes the day

that tests his power

where comes the wind

riding on scorching summer

a season in his life

that makes him bend over

but for the thorns

who only get sharper

little flower makes the choice

to close his wings

the stubborn thorns choose

to play their innings

by the time that goes by

the flower barely surviving

and the thorns go stiff

when they get hardening

then nature gives the chance

so rains come pouring

flexible flower takes the chance

lifeless thorns get flushing

and thrives the flower

only to make another choice

thorns keep waiting

for a chance to rejoice
