Unfettered  by the life’s woes

or  its  bitter  plight

You spread  joy and happiness,

a boundless  divine  light

A treasure from Mother Nature,

You’re priceless and free,

Your song uplifts the humanity,

a symphony of cosmic glee

Hubris swells the heart,

an inflated pride so high

Leads us to fathomless fall,

and makes us wonder why

We rise on ego’s wings,

but are destined to decline

As the nemesis ushers in,

an inevitable bitter design

 *

In ruin’s darkened night, we

see our crestfallen pride

A lesson learnt in pain, with

a humbled heart inside

 *

The height we aspired to grasp,

slips through our hands

And wisdom’s seeds are sown,

in humility’s gentle stands

Even among animals, there’s

struggle, skirmish and battles

Struggle for survival, for food,

for protection of dominance,

For territory, to attract a mate,

But animals never unleashed bombs,

Never launched missiles,

never destroyed nature,

Never reduced the earth to ashes.

You could say – they’re incapable,

Lacking the intelligence to do so…

But, these brainless learned the

art of building intricate nests,

These ignorant planted seeds

to keep nature green and alive

The dimwits took care of others’ eggs,

Gave life to other species too,

The ignorant faced challenges together,

As a community, they overcame crises.

Listen, you wise ones, the history

of life unambiguously says,

Being half-witted is better

than being sinisterly wicked…!

the bygone era’s rage,

Echoes of endearment,

trapped in a tender cage

Oh, the fleeting moments

like autumn’s sigh,

Why do you vanish,

leaving tears to dry?

In twilight’s hush, where

shadows softly fall,

My heart doth ache, with

memories of it all

 *

The whispers of the

past, a gentle breeze,

That stirs the embers

of love, with so ease

Oh, fairest days, why d’you

fly away from me?

Leaving me with the nostalgic
