? ~ Nostalgic Memories… ??

When skies oozed the

tears of joy and pain,

We’d run out, hands

outstretched in vain

*

Catching drops, laughing

and dancing in rain, freely,

In the scent of petrichor,

going wild, ever joyfully

*

The first rain’s ever so divine

kiss on our tender skin,

Playing a celestial symphony

of the memories within

*

As droplets fell like shining

diamonds  so  bright,

We  would  twirl,  and spin,

with the pure delight

*

But now, those days are

lost forever in the time,

A deep nostalgia plays a

somber heart’s rhyme

*

The raindrop’s question,

echoes through it all

“Now, who would stretch

hands for me to fall?”

*

When rain-kissed lasting

memories were made,

As petrichor’s fragrance

incensed heart’s arcade

*

Oh, will someone return those

stolen  childhood  days,

When carefree laughter echoed,

and joy willfully swayed..!

? ~ Let’s walk together… ??

The road  is  harsh and  unforgiving,

if possible, come along for guidance

Journey too is arduous, at least walk

along  for  some  more  distance…

In  your  blissful  company  there’ll

always  be  an  idyllic  fragrance,

I know it’s too demanding, still walk

with  me  for some more distance…

 *

Yes, I’m drunk but then you too are

not in your senses and substance,

It’ll be a great merriment if we walk

together for some more distance…

 *

Even if, meeting of one night evantuates,

it will be a blessing in abundance

Who knows about tomorrow, so let’s walk

together for some more distance

 *

It’s too late at night, but the awaken

lamps still have their dominance,

Dawn is yet far away, so let’s walk

together for some more distance…

 *

Somehow I’ve to reach the destination

joy will multiply with your acceptance

So won’t it be better if together, we continue

walking  for  some  more  distance…

? ~ Guiding Flame… ??

Though destiny’s skies may bear

the scars of past deeds’ might,

Yet the charter of duty remains as

a guiding light, shining so bright

 *

Through the life’s turmoil,

I hold fast to whatever is right,

A sworn compassionate heart,

stands resolute in fate’s fight

 *

In the blazing tempest of time,

I find solace on my inner shore

Where duty’s flame burns bright,

with the purpose noble, evermore

 *

Though the fate’s waves may crash,

but I’ll always stand firm and tall

To discharge all my obligatory duties,

I’ll face challenges, to win them all…

? ~The Underwater Odyssey??

Here is a tribute to the Divers community of the Indian Navy, who are not only the masters of the underwater water world but are also highest degree of professional in this field to carry out any type of underwater operation…

As the adage goes: “When going gets tough, the divers get going…!”

This poem has been composed at the behest of my senior colleague, Captain (IN) Kishan Singh Chundawat, who is a legend himself, and an awardee of ‘Shaurya Chakra‘ by the President of India.

Being a diver myself, I have had quite a few exciting moments in diving operations with him…

We fondly call him “Dada” and hold him in the highest esteem…

Love you, Dada…

Warmest regards-

~Pravin

☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

Ocean’s fathomless depths, a mystic

world of unseen, priceless treasure,

Where we used to dive deep,

Unraveling the secrets of pleasure

 *

The enigmatic underwater world,

an enchanting beauty to behold,

A realm of heavenly enchantment,

where myriad untold stories unfold

 *

The shining living coral reefs

a kaleidoscope of sprightly hues,

Celestial dances of fish, making merry

in the water, so turquoise blue

 *

The mesmerizing seaweed sways,

like a gentle inebriated breeze,

As marine life whispers, in the ears

of the ocean, with great ease

 *

The ocean’s vast undulating floor,

a hidden treasure to explore,

Where shipwrecks make mysterious

abode for the sea lions to roar

 *

As the celestial netherworld shines,

with bioluminescent light,

A bewildering glittering show

in the stark darkness of night

 *

The sea creatures’ performance

a wondrous show to behold,

From tiny plankton and sharks to

whales, the giants of the sea

 *

Their beauty truly mesmerizing,

with their forms, ever so grand,

A testament to mother nature’s,

unseen artistic divine hand

 *

As we dive into the blue unknown,

humbled by the ocean’s throne,

The underwater world, a treasure rare,

We cherish forever, calling it our own.…

‘I am Death,’ he declared,

and I erupted into laughter,

leaving him disconcerted.

The finite bounds of mortality

clashed with the boundless

expanse of infinity…

Rumour has it,

the ledger of the undying

is being revised, and

my own irrepressible ‘will to live’

has been inscribed within its

hallowed pages of eternals…!

? ~ Ancestral Tree… ??

 ☆

(Inspired by the poem बरगद written by Mrs. Nirdesh Nidhi ji)

O’ Woodcutter…!

At the mouth of our farm land,

Next to the puddle pond

There is this banyan tree,

That tells stories,

Narrates fables of

Our grandfathers, great grandfathers…

Many a times, there comes

this old man in my dreams,

with a humpback…

Who proclaims

This is not just a banyan tree,

It’s a family tree

People live and die

As it lives on, generation after generation…

Long back, it was crowned with

the title of *’Ageless’* by our ancestors

Since then, it wore the  ‘turban of elders’…

And, as Lord Hanuman*

it has been standing rock-solid ever since,

Steadfast forever…!

Listen you, Woodcutter!

Don’t you dare touching its twigs

Leave apart even cutting its roots…

Throughout the night,

It gathers the coolness of

the nocturnal moonlight…

As it sprinkles fragrant and

soothing freshness on

the scorching bodies

of the tired travelers…

Listen, O’ Woodcutter!

What to talk of twigs,

You don’t even touch the leaves…

It plays the zither,

with a melodious sound

Singing celestial lullabies

In the Deepak Raga* tune

Adorning itself with the redness

of the dawn every morning…

Listen, O’ Woodcutter!

Leave apart even chopping the leaves

Don’t you dare

touching its winds

Which it puffs in everyone’s breath,

throughout the day…

Picks up the ‘Kalima’ –the darkness– of the night,

Weaves a soothing layer of carpet below,

for the day…

Has made a perennial

inn under its dense shade

Envelops as the blessings of father

On the heads of the daughters of the village,

returning to their parental house…!

It fondles with the children,

Harmonises tone with the aged ones

and shows the beautiful dreams to the youth,

A swollen sea full of tides of animals

and birds, envelops the surroundings…

Inseparable childhood friend

of animate and inanimate objects,

while standing by the side of puddle,

firmly, as ever…

Maintaining the relationship of ever

effervescent joy and laughter…!

Whenever it feels like,

It quietly, dumps the wasted leaves,

On the spick and span ground below…

Listen, O’ Woodcutter!

Don’t you ever look at it

as a merciless woodchopper…

Along with innocent birds,

it has also raised man-eaters,

as it keeps discussing

with them all night through

Standing watchful like a sentinel,

At the mouth of our puddle-farm,

That very Banyan tree …!

Bees,

travel miles and miles

flit from flower to flower,

collect nectar drop by drop,

with an arduous labour,

and painful store it

in their well crafted hives…

However, we the humans

not only break into their hives

to extract their honey,

but destroy them completely,

leaving the hapless bees

dismayed, disheartened, and homeless!

Bees have been exploited

since time immemorial, yet sadly,

their story finds no mention in

the annals of human exploitation…!

Speaketh only the truth,

let words flow free,

Call a blank page, blank,

don’t pretend to see

*

Who’s hurt by honesty,

and what’s the cost?

Call a hollow sound, hollow;

no need at all, to boast

*

Let truthful authenticity be

your sole guiding light,

In this world of cacophony,

speak with all your might

*

For in the sincerity alone,

we find our guiding way,

And truth sets us free,

regardless, come what may

? ~ Indefatigable Willpower… ??

As the grim darkness deepens,

I summon the dawn’s might

The weather must shift, as the

era takes a formidable flight

Faces, now, change like masks,

as a frequent daily charade

Their funeral procession, must be

a spectacular empty parade

Those who’ve bartered their souls,

now revel in their own shame

Arrest their downward spiral before,

they claim  the  crown’s name

Petals that once bloomed, are

crushed beneath their weight

Life must be cast in steel frame

to defy the fate’s inimical fate

When they usurp your rights,

don’t ever shed a single tear

Rise in fury, demand justice,

and make your presence clear

Let your voice be thunderous,

like a raging stormy night

And ensure that justice is served,

in all its lucidity and might

In the company of good and God, we find our way,

To ignite the spark, that burns throughout the day

Illuminating our path, showing what is eternally true
