? ~ The Cloak of Mirrors… ??

They arrive—

a faceless throng

cloaked in mirrored glass

each shard glinting

with someone else’s truth..

They spill into my town

like an omen in me

with multitudes of yields,

drawn and merged,

my shoulders claimed by

a mirror-cloak of my own…

The procession turns

toward caverns carved by fear,

haunted by what thrives in dark

There, a small man cowers,

—fleeing the reflection

that never stops pursuing him…

Thunderous echoes rise

he stumbles then turns back

as if defeat were shelter

The throng retreats

shadows trailing behind

the cavern bewilderedly

searching for the Sun…

I jolt awake

morning light softening the remnants

of that mirrored dream

still carrying the weight

of mystic visions

yet never fully mine…!

A tide of words rises in my throat

yet stills itself before it can erupt—

As though the inner light of being

has suddenly been shrouded in mist…

 *

And I begin to wonder—

what rare, compacted anguish it must be

that can turn the verdant to barren in a breath

and draw one who speaks and walks with ease

into an abyss of unsounded quietude..!

? ~ Dustiness of Vanity… ??

All those egomaniacs who occupied

the throne of conceited authority

Consumed by the false delusion

of being at par with the divinity

 *

Some blazed like infernos, others

shimmered like ephemeral blaze

Grandiose arrogance danced openly

with their shady reputation, ablaze

Where’re those fea*rsome ones now,

who once spelt un*speakable evils

Vanquished in the annals of time,

reduced to dust, all those devils

 *

Their ignonamious legacies erased,

their memories too, lost in the haze

Their evil deeds summarily forgotten,

in the passage of time’s distant gaze

?~ March in Step... ~??

When life met me in the past,

it showed me dreams of tomorrow…

When she met me now,

It whispered memories of the past.

Listen, O life!

Walk in step with me —

abreast, just once,

and dare to voice the present,

thunderously…for a change…!

English Version by – Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi

?~ Wings... ~??

Long ago, you severed

the wings I carried

Fearing I might rise beyond your reach

Yet some unseen strength within me

taught me to soar high

Defying your will… by a miracle

I never understood…

Perhaps it was my quiet rebellion

Against a world that binds a woman

to four unyielding walls

I still remember a line from an

old famous Hindi film:

“Women of honour,

Do not mistake the walls of a home

for chains”

Yet, I crossed the threshold

Claiming myself at last

Feeling, deep within, a thrusting joy

As though every poem of freedom

I had ever written

Rose like dawn inside my being…

But now, in this dusk-lit hour

When illness has shadowed your body

You have not clipped my wings

Yet you have named my confinement

In the gentlest disguise; as ‘Pativrata’

–the sacred duty of a faithful wife…!

My fire has softened too

And I, too, have quietly closed

Every door of my own heart

Is this the repentance or

surrender of my womanhood…?

I knoweth not…!

English Literature – Poetry ☆ Invisible Prison… ☆ Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi, NM ☆

?

The subtlest prisons are the ones

we build within ourselves!”

? ~ Invisible Prison… ??

Invisible bars confine the soul

forged not of iron

but of mental arrest

Dreams are auctioned

in the marketplace of survival

freedom a fragile castle of cards

sold in the name of prosperity

The world performs its rehearsed despair

Roles carved in stealth and chicane

Scripts inked in deviousness

Every man a puppet

dangling by threads

woven from falsehood and desultory dreams

We kneel before the human gods we invented

Commerce, conformity, comfort —

our holy trinity of decay

Yet somewhere, in the marrow of silence

a pulse remembers the wind

A spark refuses to die

The spirit aches to break form

to unlearn

to unchain

to become

to erupt

to fly beyond horizons

Walls dissolve into air

chains melt into starlight

and even the idea of freedom

bows in awe before the unleashed soul

~Pravin Raghuvanshi

Poet’s Note

“Invisible Prison” is a hymn to the human spirit —a warning, a rebellion, a revelation. The cages are not made of stone or iron but of fear, habit, and false gods. Freedom awakens when the soul recognizes the bars were never real…!

English Literature – Poetry ☆ Quietly… ☆ Hemant Bawankar ☆

Hemant Bawankar

(This poem has been cited from my book The Variegated Life of Emotional Hearts”.)

☆ Quietly… ☆ Hemant Bawankar ☆

My tears have dried

and eyes are stoned now

Oh God!

Don’t pass me

through any such incident ever

for sure

let me cry quietly.

We journeyed a long way

with each other

at this stage of life.

Oh God!

It would be difficult to walk alone.

If there is a call to walk alone,

let me sleep quietly.

Every father says

when you will become a father

you will understand.

It continued

from generation to generation.

If you will say something else

tell me quietly.

Father’s shelter

seems to be like forgotten memories.

Today,

under the shelter of a dry  tree

I feel that if the wind reaches again

to my father,

enclose me quietly.

Life is flying

like a book of time

when the wind stops

on  the last page,

let me sleep quietly.

It is really difficult to connect

old ancestral broken relationship

like a delicate thread.

Break the whole myth today

like Kabir’s couplets quietly.

Every moment of life

is extremely beautiful

and equally romantic is

the philosophy of life.

Moment that has been passed,

will never return.

If you could live

that moment again,

tell me quietly.

? ~ Nirvana, the Salvation… ??

With an unquenchable thirst

to know the enigmatic infinite

I wandered through doors upon doors

many doors, yet more doors

infinite doors…

At last, I reached ‘Muktidwar’

–the fabled ‘Door of Salvation’…

Yet my thirst lingered

driven by eternal inquisitiveness

I turned back, resolute

I do not seek liberation

I crave fulfillment

I long for my own world

for the fire of imagining

not the tranquil silence of Nirvana

but the awakening of my creative universe..!

? ~ The Sacred Churning??

On this side, the unknown devils

On that side the divine beings

Yet both remain unknown

*

No celestial mountain to anchor

No serpent-rope to girdle

the churner of my inner world

*

And still, with an impassioned,

unguarded heart, I keep churning

the vast ocean of my being…

*

From hidden, unfathomable depths

rise ancient, enigmatic truths—

long-silent, dormant energies

oozing forth in mystic spirals

*

For within every surge, every pull

I sense the eternal promise of

that radiant drop of proverbial

nectar of becoming immortal…!

English Literature – Poetry ☆ Lady died at 232!… ☆ Shri Pramod Vaman Vartak ☆

Shri Pramod Vaman Vartak

😞 “Lady died at 232!” 😞

(Indian Express 14-11-2025)

Penny” had taken her last breath yesterday,

Who ruled the hearts of Americans in her heyday !

*

At birth it was depicted by Lady Liberty,

then Abraham Lincoln took over the entity !

*

Penny originally minted in pure copper,

But changed her soul and  body with copper colour later !

*

After her demise she won’t vanish for sometime,

May be its golden era for Nickel and Dime !

*

Penny foolish, pound wise” is now obsolete,

Until someone mints penny’s substitute !
