Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi —an ex Naval Officer, possesses a multifaceted personality. He served as a Senior Advisor in prestigious Supercomputer organisation C-DAC, Pune. He was involved in various Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing projects of national and international repute. He has got a long experience in the field of ‘Natural Language Processing’, especially, in the domain of Machine Translation. He has taken the mantle of translating the timeless beauties of Indian literature upon himself so that it reaches across the globe. He has also undertaken translation work for Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, which was highly appreciated by him. He is also a member of ‘Bombay Film Writer Association’.

Captain Raghuvanshi is also a littérateur par excellence. He is a prolific writer, poet and ‘Shayar’ himself and participates in literature fests and ‘Mushayaras’. He keeps participating in various language & literature fests, symposiums and workshops etc. Recently, he played an active role in the ‘International Hindi Conference’ at New Delhi.  He presided over the “Session Focused on Language and Translation” and also presented a research paper.  The conference was organized by Delhi University in collaboration with New York University and Columbia University.

उसने कहा

कॉफी पियोगे

मैंने कहा नहीं

मुझे चाय पसंद है

उसने चाय और कॉफी मिलाकर बनाई

अब उसके लिये वो कॉफी थी और मेरे लिये चाय.

 

उसने कहा

चाय पीते वक्त

आवाज़ बहुत करते हो तुम

मैंने कहा हाँ आदत है

फिर उसने कहा

ये आदत कभी मत छोड़ना

चाहे मै भी कहूँ.

 

उसने कहा

रुमाल क्यों नहीं रखते तुम

मैंने कहा

आदत नहीं है

उसने कहा

हर वक्त मेरे पास

कॉटन का दुपट्टा नहीं होता है

आदत बदल लो अपनी.

 

उसने कहा

मुझसे कभी मत मिलना

आज के बाद

मैंने कहा

ठीक है जैसी तुम्हारी मर्जी

वो गुस्से में भी हंस पड़ी

और बोली

मेरी मर्जी की परवाह करने वाले से तो

Why don’t you keep a handkerchief

I’m not used to of…

She said:

I don’t always carry

a cotton scarf with me

Change your habit…

 

She said:

Never meet me after today

I said:

Ok, as you wish…

She burst into laughter even in anger

and said:

I’ll have to meet again and again with someone who cares so much about my wishes…!

Why do I wish to swim

Against the river flow?

I know well

I will have to struggle

More and more.

I know that

Flowing downstream

Is an easy task

As compared to upstream.

I also know that

Well wishers standing

On both the banks

Will clap and laugh.

If I win,

They will say:

Their encouragement

Is responsible for the success.

If unfortunately

I lose,

They will not wait a second

To say that

They tried their best

To stop me

By laughing at me.

In both the cases

I will lose and

They will win.

Even then

I will swim

Against the river flow

Again and again.

When will we look at the problem

as a question and not as a fiction?

for fiction is closer to the heart

but answer is brain’s beautiful art

☆

like the beauty is mystery to a bud

before it blooms, petal by petal

to reveal its true worth

likewise, answer is a question’s worth

☆

let’s sit calm and drink

wine of logic and wit

let’s discuss and discover

the root of a question

☆

quantify it atomically

to see holistically

like you see each and every petal

and flower blooms in subtle

☆

close your eyes to see

and open your eyes to realise

that if you don’t find answer

you find hope standing there

☆

answer will put you to the rest

but hope will make you restless

useful it is in exceptional cases

for most of the cases it is hopeless

हैं ज़िंदगी के कई,

ज़ालिम भी बने हैं

किरदार बंदगी के कई…

Many experiences of life

are intriguingly strange…

Seen many oppressors too

becoming servitors of God…!

 मैं फूल ही चुनती रह गई और

He has got a long experience in the field of ‘Natural Language Processing’, especially, in the domain of Machine Translation. He has taken the mantle of translating the timeless beauties of Indian literature upon himself so that it reaches across the globe. He has also undertaken translation work for Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, which was highly appreciated by him. He is also a member of ‘Bombay Film Writer Association’.

Captain Raghuvanshi is also a littérateur par excellence. He is a prolific writer, poet and ‘Shayar’ himself and participates in literature fests and ‘Mushayaras’. He keeps participating in various language & literature fests, symposiums and workshops etc. Recently, he played an active role in the ‘International Hindi Conference’ at New Delhi.  He presided over the “Session Focused on Language and Translation” and also presented a research paper.  The conference was organized by Delhi University in collaboration with New York University and Columbia University.

In his naval career, he was qualified to command all types of warships. He is also an aviator and a Sea Diver; and recipient of various awards including ‘Nao Sena Medal’ by the President of India, Prime Minister Award and C-in-C Commendation.

Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi is also an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus. His latest quest involves social media, which is filled with rich anonymous literature of nameless writers, shared on different platforms, like,  WhatsApp / Facebook / Twitter / Your quotes / Instagram etc. in Hindi and Urdu, he has taken the mantle of translating them as a mission for the enjoyment of the global readers.
